In January, Bath Spa University was delighted to host students from Columbia College Chicago for an immersive textiles technique class.

Led by Justin LeBlanc from Columbia College, fashion students Arthur Lopez-Rodriguez, Jessi Abramovitz, Kyndal Gennings, Sarah Donnelly, Autumn Woody, Tadahri Magitt, Sophia Izquierdo, and Oskar Stine all made it safely to Bath and were able to participate in lectures and practical work for a fabric design project.

Amanda Goode led the collaboration on the Bath Spa side, with demonstrations and technical support provided by Simon Cooper, Joy Merron, and Maggie Powell.

The student visit, which took place between 6 and 18 January, was the third time that Bath Spa’s textiles department had hosted Columbia College students since 2019 (no trip was possible in 2021), and both GALA partners look forward to further collaborations.
