The single A Bee Song by Somerset-based recording artist Banco de Gaia (Toby Marks) and Future Pasts led by Sian Sullivan, Professor of Environment and Culture, now has a music video.

Made by Somerset-based video artist Patrick Dunn, who has worked with bands such as Afro-Celt Sound System and The Orb, the video weaves in footage filmed by Future Pasts collaborator Oliver Halsey. For the video we selected sequences from the Future Pasts films The Music Returns to Kai-as (2020) and Lands That History Forgot (2024).

These film sequences have been skilfully and subtly combined with footage of honey bees (Apis mellifera), producing a weave of images that match the original archive recording on which the single is based: a song which praises bees.
