Posted on February 4, 2023

We’ve some free online training opportunities coming up in the coming months available to GALA faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students. Spaces are limited so we ask that interested individuals send us expressions of interest in advance (see below for details).

08:00 to 09:30 (UK time) on 14 and 21 March 2023.
UK-based trainer Jamie McDonald is offering two 90-minute online workshops specifically for GALA colleagues that explore how best to respond to the vicissitudes of university life, especially over the last few years. Further information is available on the attached document,

Interested faculty should apply via this form by Friday 17 February. Maximum of 20 attendees, so we are limiting this to 3 attendees per partner. We will contact you shortly after the deadline to confirm your place.

2. Bath Spa University’s Online Researcher Development Programme [researchers, including PhD students]
Over the next six months, Bath Spa University is running a programme of online training, workshops, development opportunities, resources and events to suit the individual needs of the researchers. Whether you are embarking on a PhD, developing your profile as an Early Stage Researcher or honing your expertise as a Research Leader, we hope to support your professional development throughout your career. The programme offers a diverse array of sessions – from publishing, public engagement, resilience, research bidding, impact, communication, project and time management, supervision, or developing yourself or your research. These workshops are led by external specialists and internal practitioners and take place across the university campuses.

These workshops are aimed at Bath Spa University’s researchers but we’re very grateful to the Research Support Office at Bath Spa University for making additional spaces available for researchers, including PhD students, from GALA partners.

Interested individuals should first review the range of events available at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/bath-spa-university-researcher-development-programme/ but do not book directly via this page. Instead, please apply via this form. We will review submissions on a weekly basis, and will contact you to confirm your place.

NB. Please bear in mind that the timings for all these training events are UK times. We advise you to use https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html to confirm your local time on the specific day. All training will be in English.
