Bath Spa University, UK — request for survey respondents

Posted on January 29, 2022

We are a small team of disabled and non-disabled academics and activists, and are currently completing some research into how disabled university students and staff/students and staff who identify as having a long-term health condition(s) experience higher education during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

We are conducting an online survey on this topic, and I would appreciate it if you could disseminate this information to your networks of disabled university students/staff – including students and staff who identify as having a long-term health condition(s).

The survey takes approximately twenty minutes to complete, and is open to anyone aged 18 or older who feels they fit one or more of the following groups of people:

  • Staff who are currently working at any higher education institution (in any role), and who identify as disabled or having a long-term health condition(s).
  • Students who are currently studying at any higher education institution, and who identify as disabled or having a long-term health condition(s).
  • Individuals who identify as disabled or having a long-term health condition(s), and who were working or studying at a higher education institution during the COVID-19 pandemic, but who have now left academia. For example, you may have recently graduated or ended your studies, or started new employment outside of higher education.

The survey will ask for thoughts on how the higher education sector is responding to disabled people/people with a long-term health condition(s) through the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey will also ask for thoughts on how the higher education sector can better work with disabled people/people with a long-term health condition(s) to become more inclusive following the pandemic.
