The Academic Director of GALA, Professor Ian Gadd, recently visited GALA partner SUNY Geneseo in upstate New York. SUNY Geneseo is one of the US’s leading public liberal arts colleges, and it has maintained an active student exchange programme with Bath Spa for several years. Ian met with Bath Spa students currently at Geneseo, and Geneseo students due to come to Bath Spa after Christmas. He also met with members of the English and History faculties, the Vice-Presidents for Student and Campus Life, for Enrollment Management, for Advancement, and for Administration and Finance, and President Denise Battles (pictured with Ian Gadd). Along with conversations about the liberal arts curriculum, student support and administration, and institutional finance and governance, there were also discussions about ways of extending the student exchange programme, developing new teaching collaborations, and supporting the strategic goals of GALA.
