Bath Children’s Literature Festival, brought to you by Bath Spa’s cultural partner Bath Festivals, is Europe’s largest stand-alone children’s book festival. The festival is excited to reveal its varied and vibrant programme for its 10 day celebration of books – here from Friday 23 September until Sunday 2 October.

From live story telling sessions for pre-school children, through a wide mix of events for middle grade readers, to events aimed at teen and Young Adult (YA) audiences, there is plenty to get stuck into with over 100 events.

Bath Spa University is proud to be sponsoring two events at this year’s festival:

Saturday 24 September at the Egg (all events are centred around happiness) – Dr Alex George (mental health campaigner, 10+), A Better Day, a mental wellness handbook designed to help children aged 10 and over with their mental health.
Saturday 1 October at Guildhall Banqueting Room – Alice Oseman author of Heartstopper (books and now series on Netflix).
In addition a number of our Writing for Young People academics are working with the festival team to host a workshop “Finding the Heart for your story” with Tanya Byrne followed by a panel event in the evening.
