University of Parma collaboration with the Global Academy of Liberal Arts
Posted on May 9, 2025
In this inspiring video, Professor of Literature Diego Saglia joins colleagues at the Università di Parma to reflect on a decade of dynamic collaboration with the Global Academy of Liberal Arts (GALA). Since the network’s founding in 2014, the Università di Parma has played a pivotal role in shaping its transdisciplinary vision, most notably by hosting the landmark 2017 annual conference themed Curating the Future, which brought together scholars, artists, and practitioners from across the network.
Over the past ten years, this partnership has blossomed into a rich tapestry of academic exchange and creative experimentation. From hybrid and immersive summer schools to boundary-pushing art and design research, and from staff and student mobility programs to shared pedagogical initiatives, the collaboration has continually championed a model of education that transcends traditional disciplinary borders.
As we celebrate this milestone, we also reaffirm our commitment to deepening these connections and cultivating new opportunities for transformative learning and research. With an eye to the future, we eagerly anticipate the next decade of co-creation, critical dialogue, and global engagement across the GALA network.
