Being Human Festival 2024
Posted on October 3, 2024
Being Human Festival returns to locations and venues across the UK, celebrating its 10th anniversary! Over 230 free activities and events for all ages will take place as part of this year’s festival – from workshops and walks, to performances and talks. Find out more about the programme here.
Being Human is the UK’s national festival of the humanities. A celebration of humanities research through public engagement, it is led by the School of Advanced Study(Opens in new window) at the University of London, the UK’s national centre for the pursuit, support and promotion of research in the humanities. The festival works in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council(Opens in new window) and the British Academy(Opens in new window) to support humanities public engagement across the UK.
Every year we help researchers in the humanities – from literature and history, languages and philosophy, art history and classics, and more – produce enjoyable events for public audiences that emphasise working with local communities to share ideas for mutual benefit.
Being Human: Bath
Bath Spa University’s festival Hub programme aims to celebrate anniversaries, knowledge, imagination and place. Join us in a city-wide readathon, a dance in the pluriverse, or a community conversation on radical intergenerational wonder, and more. Along the way, we hope you discover new things about yourself, your neighbours and the landscapes and landmarks of Bath.
Dr Eri Mountbatten-O’Malley, Senior lecturer in Education Studies, will be running a FlourishCafé on ‘Radical Intergenerational Wonder‘ on 11th November at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, Bath.
Bath Spa would like to thank their festival Hub partners: Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution and Bathscape.
