New book: Teaching Art Creatively

Posted on October 31, 2022

Dr Penny Hay, Reader in Creative Teaching & Learning at Bath Spa University, Senior Lecturer in Arts Education and CCCI Research Fellow, has published a new book with Routledge Teaching Art Creatively

Teaching Art Creatively is packed with ideas and inspiration to enrich teachers’ knowledge and understanding of art and design in the primary classroom. It synthesises the philosophical and practical elements of teaching, encouraging a move away from traditional didactic approaches to contemporary classroom pedagogies to develop children’s creative potential.

Penny’s PhD monograph will be out at the end of the year: Hay, P. (2022) Children are Artists: Supporting Children’s Learning Identity as Artists, Routledge.
