About Me

I hold a PhD (Magna cum laude and Doctor Europaeus) in English literature(s) from the University of Udine and University of Trieste, and I am now a Post-Doctoral Fellow working on the MSCA 737 – Social Sciences and Humanities (EU Programme) with the project “The Blue Embodied Atlantic Archive for an Eco-Partnership World”. I research in the areas of World/Postcolonial/Decolonial Literatures, Derek Walcott’s Literature, English Literature, Performance/Dance Studies and Multimodal Studies. In 2022 I won the “AISCLI Essay Prize 2021” for the best academic article written by a young researcher & the UNIUD PhD Award 2021. I have been “Honorary Visiting Research Fellow” at the University of Essex (2019) and at the University of Barcelona (2022). In August 2022 I published Narrative Rewritings and Artistic Praxis in Derek Walcott’s Work: Caribbean Decolonisations (Cambridge Scholars Publishing). I am also a professional ballet dancer, choreographer and performing artist. I graduated from La Scala Ballet Academy in Milan (2005). For seven seasons, I was part of the ensemble of the National Ballet Theatre of Prague (Czech Republic). I performed in more than 10 countries in Europe, in China (EXPO 2010), at the Biennale of Venice and at Mittelfest 2013.
