The QUT Literary Salon frequently collaborates and connects with other literary publications and cultural institutions, including The Review of Australian Fiction, Bath Spa University, the Queensland Poetry Festival and others.
This project paired QUT undergraduate poets from KWB212: Writing Poetry with poets from CW5022: Performance Poetry at Bath Spa University in the UK to work on projects of collaborative poetics to foster cross-cultural exchange and forge international links. Led by QUT’s Sarah Holland-Batt and BSU’s Lucy English, groups of students collaborated digitally on works of performance poetry, which were performed at Bath Spa University in November 2016 and at QUT in March 2017.
The Review of Australian Fiction, one of Australia’s leading literary magazines, has dedicated an entire volume to celebrating the best voices to emerge out of the QUT Literary Salon. Each issue of The Review of Australian Fiction pairs an emerging writer with an established writer. The QUT-RAF joint volume, selected by QUT’s Sarah Holland-Batt and edited by RAF Editor Matthew Lamb, sees QUT writers and Lit Salon alumni Emily O’Grady, Laura Kenny, Sarah Kanake, Alex Philp, Laura Elvery and Mirandi Riwoe with leading Australian writers Kris Olsson, Michelle Cahill, Ryan O’Neill, Gary Crew, Krissy Kneen and Patrick Holland.
